Stalk of the Town: David Blaine's New Workout Plan

Sighted: Saw David Blaine at Bubby's Saturday around noon, making some pancakes disappear. Looked a little bloated.

Bubby's is a classic Tribeca eatery that harkens back to an earlier time. A time when men were men, and magicians were magicians. A time when real magic involved sexy assistants, changing one's last name to "Copperfield" to conceal Jewish heritage, and successfully tricking a supermodel such as Claudia Schiffer into dating oneself, notwithstanding the fact that one is 100% gay and bears a striking resemblance to Prince.

Sadly, the era of rabbits and endless silk scarves has given way to the era of David Blaine, a magician so beyond worthless card tricks that he must resort to standing on a pole for 35 hours and swimming in a fish tank at Lincoln Center.

“You're indicating that you don't trust what you're secretary says or you don't trust what your undersecretary says because you have to have your very own adviser, you have to have your very own assistant to report to you on what is needed by government," pahayag ni Briones.

eHarmony.com sued for excluding homosexuals

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — A Los Angeles woman has sued the popular online dating site eHarmony.com, claiming she was discriminated against based on her sexual orientation when the Web site refused to pair her with another woman.

eHarmony was founded in 2000 by Neil Clark Warren, an evangelical with ties to Focus on the Family, and it has grown to more than 12 million registered users, according to Reuters.

The lawyer for the woman, Linda Carlson, said the lawsuit was "about changing the landscape and making a statement out there that gay people, just like heterosexuals, have the right and desire to meet other people with whom they can fall in love." Carlson is urging fellow homosexuals to join the class action lawsuit geared toward forcing eHarmony to change its policy.

Broadway Baptist group seeks ouster of pastor

A group at Broadway Baptist Church is attempting to oust its senior pastor, citing events dating back 18 months, including a debate on allowing photos of gay couples to appear in a church directory.

The group, calling itself Friends for the Future of Broadway, circulated petitions asking the church deacons to call a special vote to determine whether the Rev. Brett Younger should vacate the pulpit.

Younger, who talked about the efforts to "fire me" during his sermon Sunday, also said he was offered $50,000 to step aside.

"Stranger things have happened, but I can't remember any," Younger said Tuesday. "I was taken aback, it was so peculiar."

In response to the effort, another group at the church has circulated a letter criticizing the petition drive and calling for more dialogue.

Gay matchmaking sites find a growing market

Growing up, Bethtina Woodridge heard all kinds of advice about dating, finding a husband and getting married.

"You don't have those tips about meeting women," said Woodridge, 31. "How do I approach her, how do I know she is gay?"

For Woodridge, finding that special someone turned out to be easier online. Several months after signing up for dating service Chemistry.com, Woodridge was matched with her partner, who was "incredibly honest and sincere, and she stole my heart."

After online giant eHarmony made headlines last year by saying its psychological research is based exclusively on heterosexual relationships, a growing number of rival online matchmakers are using their algorithms to find same-sex love as well.

"There are just not enough services for creating healthy relationships, and (it is) a major gap in the gay community," said matchmaker Patrick Perrine, founder of San Francisco-based Mypartner.com, which caters to "sophisticated, cultured and relationship-oriented gay men" and has more than 50,000 clients across the nation.

Miyerkules, Pebrero 20, 2008

Emory’s Burn Book, Online

It's Craiglist on crack, Facebook gone wild.

It features headlines that read “ATO = Gay?", “Dating an Emory Girl VS. Sticking Your Head in a Toilet" and even “The Jews Ruin This School."

Its supporters call it harmless. Its detractors, many of whom have been the subject of defamatory posts, call it slanderous.

It's JuicyCampus.com, and it's the latest — and most controversial — online craze to hit campuses, including Emory's.

The site's premise is simple: Bring middle school-level gossip to the Internet. Juicy Campus is unregulated and anonymous. The site, created by Duke alum Matt Ivester, includes a disclaimer that serves as its guiding principle: “Facts can be untrue. Opinions can be stupid, or ignorant, or mean-spirited, but they can't be untrue.

Britney's Fall From Grace Makes the Cover of Rolling Stone

To see more from the excerpt and what Britney had to say to her father while in the hospital, just read more

The siblings run after Britney to get a video to put up on YouTube, and some of the shopgirls run after her to hand off the merchandise she left behind, and there's an entire bridal party wearing yellow T-shirts who have pulled out camera phones too. A crush of managers in black shirts and gold name tags try to keep the peace, but the crowd running after Britney gets larger, and now the shopgirls have started to catch up to her, one of them slipping spectacularly in her platform shoes, grazing her elbow. She pulls herself up, mustering the strength to tap Britney's shoulder. "Um, I'm from the South too," she mumbles, "and I was wondering if I could get a picture with you for my little sister."

Britney turns to Ghalib and grabs his arm.
